RSCN2519Colette Connor trained as an actor  with the R.I.A.M and the N.A.T.A. playing in repertory in both Northern and Southern Ireland. She moved to England in 1974 to work with actor/writer Allan McClelland on plays and stories for the BBC.  Returning to Dublin she founded Actors’ Contemporary Theatre with prodcuctions at the Actors Centre  and Players Theatre, Trinity College Dublin. She founded Hecuba Publishing in 2009 publushing ‘Women Playwrights at The Abbey 1904-2004’ an introduction to and a chronological listing of the names, dates and titles of plays written by women and produced at The Abbey, Ireland’s National Theatre.

 

B.A., English Studies, School of English, Trinity College,  Dublin. M.A. Women’s Studies University College Dublin; M.Phil in Creative Writing, (Oscar Wilde Center), Trinity College, Dublin. Short-listed for a Hennessy Award, her poetry has been published in Poetry Ireland Review, Cyphers, Chapters, The Stinging Fly and various other magazines and anthologies.  She is presently working on a series of novels.
